RE/MAX holds its inaugural Gold Coast in-rooms auction event at the Southport Yacht Club on October 31, and auctioneer Dene Tucker is not expecting goblins and ghouls to outnumber the bidders in the room.
“There is a Halloween theme happening downstairs at the yacht club, but I expect everyone at the auction will be focussed on the six properties that we have under the hammer,” he said.
The properties set for auction at the event are:
- 34 North Quay Hope Island
- 14/1 Acacia Court, Robina
- 64/22 Barbet Place, Burleigh Waters
- 22001/3113 Surfers Paradise Boulevard, Surfers Paradise
- 101 O’Reilly Street, Coomera
- 33 McWilliam Street, Pimpama
“Relatively few agents hold regular in-rooms auctions, tending to hold them at the property; however, they are very efficient for the buyer as well as the seller,” Mr Tucker explained.
“Bidders can see multiple properties on one night in one place, which works better than attending several auctions at different times and at different locations, particularly if they are interested in buying more than one property.
“With several properties under the hammer at the one event, owners can reap the benefits of a combined, concentrated marketing program. Attendance at an in-rooms event tends to be greater than if the auctions were held separately, and a large attendance may benefit a seller in the case of the bidder who originally intended to buy another property on the night.
“Holding the event on a weeknight means we are not vying for time with people’s family and leisure activities.
“And of course, we are not at the mercy of the elements,” he said.
RE/MAX Transact, RE/MAX Coast, RE/MAX Property Centre and RE/MAX Regency are represented at the Gold Coast In Room Auction this coming Thursday evening. (October 31st)
