Children following parents into occupations and careers is not a unique or even unusual occurrence but in the case of one Cairns real estate agency, it links business levels.
Danielle Jobling, a sales associate at RE/MAX Real Estate Services, has two daughters both following her in a real estate career.
“Teneille, my eldest daughter, began working after school when she was in years 11 and 12 for the real estate business I owned at the time.
“She then worked with me full time for one year before moving to Brisbane and continuing her real estate career.
Twenty-two-year-old Teneille works in sales administration and property management at RE/MAX Elevate at Tarragindi. Fuelling her second passion, she is also completing a Bachelor of Music majoring in piano.
Sixteen-year-old Talitha Jobling is in year 11 and recently began her traineeship with RE/MAX in Cairns while completing her senior certificate. Her eyes are firmly set on a successful long-term real estate career.
Danielle says both girls have been assisting with open homes and auctions since the age of 15.
Families run strong through the RE/MAX network.
Danielle and Talitha are on the Cairns team, an office owned by the Murphy family- mother Sharyon and sons, Ray and David. RE/MAX Elevate broker owners are mother and son Sue Lewis-Date and Darren Lewis Date. At the head of the RE/MAX Australia network are owners and directors, Michael Davoren and sons Joel and Josh Davoren.
Recently the three Jobling ladies attended the 2020 RE/MAX Annual Awards at the Hilton Brisbane where ‘Bollywood’ was the theme. It was Teneille and Talitha’s first time.
“It was my first time at a real estate awards as a team member in my own right, rather than attending with mum, which gave it a different dimension,” said Teneille, “and it was special because my sister was experiencing such an event for the first time.
“The energy in the room made it very exciting.”
RE/MAX is the world’s most successful and productive real estate group. It’s 1973 founder Dave Liniger offered the words of wisdom: ‘Fall in love with what you do, because if what you do, because if you’re in love with what you do, you never go to work’, an adage attributed to many through time, including the ancient Chinese sage Confucius.
‘I truly believe this because I live it,” said Danielle.
“I got my real estate job after completing year 12 and this this year marks my 29 years in real estate. Both of the girls are following in my footsteps, starting out young and thriving in the industry.
“Real estate still running strong in my family, which I love,” said Danielle.
