Katie Knight is the Real Estate Industry of Queensland (REIQ) 2016 ‘Property Manager of the Year’.
The 2016 REIQ Awards for Excellence were announced in Brisbane City Hall on 6th February.
Katie wears this mantle for the fifth time, having won it in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016, and has been named a finalist nine times. In fact, she has either claimed the title or been a finalist since the very first time she nominated.
In fact, she is the ONLY person to have won the REIQ Awards for Excellence ‘Property Manager of the Year Award’ five times.
Katie leads RE/MAX Success, one of the real estate network’s top performing and respected offices in Australia, and she is very quick to point out that the award represents much more than individual achievement.
“Behind the award is a massive team effort, and a team that is constantly striving to stay at the very top.
“Our goal is more than customer satisfaction; our service is intended as a stand-out experience. When we deliver an exceptional real estate experience, we have success.”
Katie said establishing points-of-difference in a competitive and changing market, where customers have high expectations and are well researched, was imperative.
RE/MAX Success innovation includes introducing property showings from 7am and twilight viewings to 7pm daily, for example.
In relation to her record win, Katie said,” When you strive to remain at the top, it’s gratifying to have the recognition that tells you that you are there.”
In February 1999, Katie Knight was convinced to ‘put off’ starting university commercial law and language studies and ‘give 12 months’ to the family business that had opened in August the previous year. Fortunately for RE/MAX, the real estate industry and her property management peers and clients, her father Ian was successfully persuasive.
In her first 18 months Katie worked her way through reception, marketing, promotions and administrative roles in property management… where her passion was ignited and her role became RE/MAX Success Property Management Director. In October 2014 she took the reins as Broker/Owner of the business with the retirement of Ian Knight.
