After 10 years of cultivating his luscious locks, Gladstone real estate agent, Anthony Williams, was ready and willing to give them the chop for a good cause.
With August came the end of a hirsute era for the RE/MAX Gold sales associate as he participated in the Leukemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave, with Mr Williams saying that a bald head was a small price to pay to support the research into cures for blood cancer and leukemia.
There was an added benefit in that his hair was of an adequate length to be donated to wig-making charity, Hair with Heart, for the use of those undergoing chemotherapy.
“I’m really just jumping the gun on genetics, given the old boy’s folically-challenged nature”, said Mr Williams, “but, to raise some funds and let someone else feel a little more normal during a rough time of their life, is an excellent reason for a shave”.
Donations are still being accepted through Anthony William’s World’s Greatest Shave profile for the support of the Leukemia Foundation at: http://my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/anthonywilliams
