Jett Jones is a young real estate agent who know where she is heading and is not afraid to take the steps to get there.
When she turned 23 this month, she was celebrating being granted her auctioneers licence a couple of weeks prior.
Jett joined RE/MAX Experience at Stones Corner in Brisbane in August 2019 in administration, with a real estate certificate and three years of industry experience.
Along with completing the training modules required for an auctioneers licence, Jett has been actively following auctioneers in recent years, observing their skills and picking up good practices, auctioneers like Justin Nickerson who is formally recognised as the leading auctioneer across Australasia, and RE/MAX Australia’s Dene Tucker who she has been shadowing since early 2020.
“Jett epitomises classic determination,” Dene said. “Auctioneering is no longer a boy’s game – in 2019 , Jenna Dunley from Canberra’s was a finalist in the Australasian Real Estate Institutes’ Auctioneering Championships, the first woman to do so – but it is still fair to say male auctioneers outnumber females.
“It is heartening to see Jett focused on an auctioneering future. I will not be the least bit surprised to see Jett take out the coveted title of REIQ Auctioneer of the Year as well as Australian competition one day!”
Jett admits she is loud and ambitious by nature and has no fear of being in the spotlight.
“I am very comfortable taking centre stage and can’t wait to regularly step into the auctioneer’s role. My enthusiasm and determination in achieving the seller’s goals will certainly be evident on the auction floor.”
When it comes to Jett, energy abounds. In her spare time, she is an assistant instructor in Rhee Tae Kwon-Do, which she has been involved in since the age of nine and an instructor since 13
She sees her future in real estate sales and auctioneering and is looking forward to presiding over her first auction for the office in January. She is also working towards her full real estate licence which she expects to complete in February 2021.
