Gladstone real estate agency, RE/MAX Gold, and Roseberry Queensland are once again uniting to help the less fortunate amongst local school kids and families, calling for the generous Gladstone community to donate back-to-school supplies in time for the 2019 school year.
The annual Back to School Supply Drive has been a resounding success for RE/MAX Gold and Roseberry Queensland since 2016 because of the support and generosity shown by the Gladstone Region.
RE/MAX Gold co-owners, Shane McLeod, Cyndi Ward and Jeff Williams, have all seen and experienced their hometown struggle through some tough years recently as the Gladstone Region once again finds its feet on the back of challenging economic conditions.
The RE/MAX Gold team came up with the idea to help with a school supply drive, in time for families with kids doing it a bit tough.
Partnering with Roseberry Queensland, all donated items will be distributed to local school children kids and families in the region, who may be struggling a little to make ends meet following the Christmas period.
“It has been a difficult year for a lot of Gladstone locals,” said Mr McLeod, “and this is a simple and relatively inexpensive exercise a lot of locals can help with, just by picking up few small items on the weekly shop, or grabbing a couple of extras when shopping for their own kids school lists.”
“That extra box of colouring pencils, a couple of exercise books, glue stick, a voucher or even a backpack, could make the world of difference to a family finding it hard to get their kids prepared for the new school year.
“Since we started this drive in 2016, the look on these kid’s faces when they come to collect their school gear each year has been a beautiful thing to see” he said.
Ms Ward added, “If it’s on a school books list, we’ll take it; and make sure it reaches the families who need it via Roseberry Queensland. We’ll even accept vouchers and do the shopping for you.
“We are looking forward to the big-hearted Gladstone community getting behind us once again.”
Roseberry Queensland General Manager, Colleen Tribe, said “Research tells us that, generally, students who come from poverty do not succeed well at school. This wonderful campaign helps us give students a chance to succeed. Roseberry is delighted to partner with RE/MAX Gold, again this year, for the Back to School campaign.”
The RE/MAX Gladstone team take school items at the office at 2 Mellefont Street, West Gladstone, with donations gratefully accepted by Friday, January 18th, 2019.
RE/MAX Gold is the longest-established, locally-owned RE/MAX franchise in the Gladstone region, operating since 2003. As part of the number one real estate franchise in the world, the team is proud of its community and local service on a truly global stage.
