A crowd in excess of 2000 turned out for the annual RE/MAX Success ‘Movie Under the Stars’ held at Toowoomba’s Queen’s Park Amphitheatre on Saturday 23rd of November.
The community family-friendly event featured two films, the popular third instalment, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, which had its Australian release in January this year, and the very successful film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team, Avengers: Endgame, released in April.
RE/MAX Success partners with realestate.com.au to bring ‘Movie Under the Stars’ as a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish® Australia, an organisation that makes vital wishes come true for children and teenagers battling life-threatening medical conditions.
A gold coin donation is asked per movie. Local food vans and merchandise stalls support the event, with the businesses donating 20 per cent of the night’s proceeds to Make-A-Wish.
The drier than usual conditions in Queen’s Park didn’t deter the movie-goers who were settling in for the show from around 5pm, although the official start time was 6.30pm; and for many the balmy evening was preferable to last year’s unexpected chill.
RE/MAX Success General Manager Daniel Burrett said a final fund-raising tally of approximately $2300 was expected.
Throughout each year, sales agents on the real estate team donate a portion of their commission on each sale to Make-A-Wish® Australia, which is then matched dollar-for-dollar by the RE/MAX Success office.
