Real estate agents and landlords give generously.
RE/MAX Success has raised more than $7,800 for drought-stricken farmers, with the support of its sales and property management clients.
“We teamed up with Lifeline to help make life a little easier for farmers across the Darling Downs and South West Queensland,” said RE/MAX Success general manager Daniel Burrett.
He said that each agent on the RE/MAX Success team had donated $50 per sales contract through September, October and November, and landlords were also invited to participate by giving $1 per each of the three months for each of their properties managed by the office.
“Our landlords were very generous, donating far more than just one dollar per month,” Mr Burrett said.
RE/MAX Success partnered with Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Queensland Ltd in order to support local farmers who had not received significant rainfall for more than seven years.
“Through our efforts in raising $7,847, and the help of others, Lifeline is able to provide financial support to severely drought affected farmers and their families, helping to pay mortgages and other critical household expenses.
“Collectively, we’re proud to have made a real difference to the lives of rural families in our community,” said Mr Burrett, who can be contacted on 0428 717 770 or dbteam@remaxsuccess.com.au.
