RE/MAX Regency put its support as Presenting Sponsor behind the fifth annual Gold Coast Bulletin Fun Run on Sunday 17th April.
More than 2500 keen participants from professional athletes to touring comedians and even babies gathered at CBus Super Stadium, a venue better known to screaming Titans fans than runners.
The RE/MAX hot air balloon was tethered at the starting line and runners and walkers streamed passed it again as they entered the stadium on their way to the finish post.
Around 30 RE/MAX flags adorned the route and RE/MAX Regency-branded barricades were everywhere.
As ‘presenting sponsors’ RE/MAX Regency was second only to the Gold Coast Bulletin in having Fun Run presence.
Wearing custom-made shirts, approximately 80 per cent of RE/MAX Regency staff entered the Fun Run, and were joined by family and friends.
While Commonwealth Games gold medalist Michael Shelley claimed the ten kilometere distance race of ten kilometres in a time of 29.05 minutes, all the RE/MAX contingent, including RE/MAX Australia’s Aimee Doherty and Tanya Bull, completed their distances in fine form.
The Gold Coast Bulletin Fun Run triggered RE/MAX Regency to set up a fundraising page to raise awareness for Childhood Cancer Support, which sales agent Stuart Legg had experienced through a client.
“My client was a family whose little girl, Maddie, had just entered into remission from cancer after years of battling and dozens of operations. The Childhood Cancer Support charity ensured the family had somewhere to stay when Maddie was undergoing the harsh treatment, which meant she was continually surrounded by the love that surely helped in her in recovery,” said Mr Legg.
RE/MAX Regency will maintain this as an ongoing fundraising page.
RE/MAX Regency knows there is no place like home and your community, and is committed to helping the community where it can. Established in 2008, it has grown into one of the most successful RE/MAX offices in Australia, consistently placing in the network’s top five.
Other Fun Run sponsors, which included a half marathon; ten, five and two and a half kilometre events; and a one kilometre run for children, were Griffith University, Heritage Bank, Brooks, Ramsden Lawyers, von Bibra Motors and Rebel Sport.
