Each year RE/MAX Australia and RE/MAX New Zealand invite their top performers to participate in a forum of shared knowledge and experiences.
Around 50 gathered at Hamilton Island on the Queensland coast in June, for what RE/MAX Managing Director, Michael Davoren, described as two days of intense professional and personal development, and networking opportunities.
He said the formal program proved outstanding with panel and round table sessions featuring RE/MAX top performers explaining what they have done to take their businesses to highpoints in profitability and success, as well as three exceptional external speakers.
Kylie Davis is the Head of Real Estate Solutions at CoreLogic, where she is responsible for category business strategy and innovation within Australia and New Zealand’s largest property data supplier. Her subject, the future of the real estate industry, had delegates soaking up information.
“Disruption in our industry is an ever-increasing topic and Kylie was able to put some valuable structure around the issue.”
The second guest, Mike Storkey, is a business trainer and coach, and a licensed real estate agent with many years of experience. A dedicated member of Toastmasters International, the world’s leading organisation devoted to communication and leadership skills development, he holds one of its highest positions: International President-Elect. He has also attained the Distinguished Toastmaster designation—the highest level of educational achievement in the organisation
Mike spoke on the impact of communications in an environment quickly being consumed by technology. He delivered a truly valuable message for professional real estate agents today – that personal communication is the most effective form of communication, through face-to-face or by telephone.
The third guest speaker was nothing short of inspirational, and was an exceptional example of the forum’s theme: ‘be the change that you would like to see in your world’.
Future education activist Chantelle Baxter is co-founder and CEO of One Girl, one of Australia’s fastest growing non-profit organisations, which is pledged to educating one million girls across Africa by 2020. This is on the basis that for every year a girl stays in school, her income rises by at least 10 per cent.
Chantelle has personally changed lives of 12,000 young women in some of the world’s poorest nations, including Sierra Leone, West Africa.
The Platinum + Forum is provided exclusively for RE/MAX high achievers and is a ‘by invitation only’ event.
Delegates agree that every RE/MAX agent should strive for an invitation each year, and should they receive one: “No excuses, lock in your diary.”
“The forum’s theme was about not expecting others to make things better… to create your success for you,” said Michael Davoren. “The thing about high achievers is that they are always striving to be higher.”
He announced the June 2017 Platinum + venue to be Queenstown, New Zealand.
