“One year ago, we were celebrating around this same time, not really knowing what was around the corner,” said RE/MAX Australia Managing Director Joel Davoren at RACV Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast, Queensland on 24th February, where a capacity crowd attended the network’s annual awards.
“We had a feeling that market conditions would present tremendous opportunities and it did not disappoint, giving us an incredibly strong market nationally, perhaps the best we’ll ever see.
“To put 2021 into perspective, RE/MAX agents sold nearly 8,000 properties across Australia worth close to $5billion in 2021; and we estimate that RE/MAX offices currently manage more than 15,000 homes around the country, with that number growing.”
With West Australian borders still closed, RE/MAX offices in this state held their own event at the Melbourne Hotel, with dinner followed by the all the excitement at RACV Royal Pines Resort streaming live into the room as the local awards presentation coincided with action on the other side of the continent.
RE/MAX Australia Business Growth Manger Simon Withers, who is based in Perth, presided over the event at the Melbourne Hotel.
“It was exciting to bring our RE/MAX WA members together to acknowledge and celebrate all the hard work of 2021,” he said.
Award winning offices were RE/MAX Extreme in Currambine, which won #3 Individual office – transactions; #4 Individual office – commissions; and its property management business received Titan Club status. RE/MAX Southern Stars, Cannington, was awarded Platinum Club status for its property management business.
Individual WA award winners were Leoni Strydon, RE/MAX Extreme; Alex Mitchell and Tom Cleary, RE/MAX Southern Stars; and Cheng Liu, RE/MAX GBT Realty earing a place in the RE/MAX International Hall of Fame, recognising $1million USD in commission earned.
Announced each February, RE/MAX Australia Club Awards recognise the preparation, effort, performance and commitment essential to real estate success. Initially six tiers, the Double Diamond level was introduced last year, and this year the Triple Diamond.
Club status announced for WA agents: Diamond – Demo Foufas and Paul Wiltshire RE/MAX Extreme; Titan – Cheng Liu RE/MAX GBT and Brett White, RE/MAX Extreme; Chairman – Dave Martin, RE/MAX Extreme and Tom Miszczak, RE/MAX Southern Stars; Platinum – Alex Mitchell and Tom Cleary RE/MAX Southern Stars; Gold – Leoni Strydom and Shaun Hayes, RE/MAX Extreme; and 100% – Ken Williamson, RE/MAX GBT.
Club awards were introduced into property management this year.
“We recognised and celebrated the amazing achievements of 2021, possibly one of the most extraordinary years we will ever see,” said Mr Withers.
“2021 was a milestone year for many reasons. The start of this year has continued to yield amazing results and to cap it all off, we heard just days ago that RE/MAX Australia won RE/MAX Region of the Year – Asia Pacific in the RE/MAX Global 2021 awards”.
