RE/MAX Australia announced its top performers of 2018 at The Star, Gold Coast, where more than 400 attended the gala annual awards on February 14th for a night of celebration.
The evening’s formalities culminated with the announcement of the network’s ultimate individual honour, The Eagle Award, which this year went to siblings Travis and Tandi Gill, broker owners of RE/MAX Advantage, in Brisbane’s bayside suburbs of Wynnum and Manly.
RE/MAX Australia Managing Director Michael Davoren awarded Cyndi Ward of RE/MAX Gold, Gladstone, the Everyday Hero Award, a very special award given only once before.
“There are no criteria attached to this award as its recipients are people who have no boundaries,” said Mr Davoren, “and it is not an award I necessarily give each year. The recipient’s business life is generally way beyond the ordinary as is their private life. Private but exceptionally special.”
RE/MAX Bayside Properties took out the Pinnacle Enterprise Award, which is RE/MAX Australia’s highest business performance accolade.
With offices at Wynnum and Manly on Brisbane’s bayside, the business also won Top Multi Office for both transactions and commission, and the Neilson Team won top sales team in both those categories.
Three RE/MAX Bayside Properties sales associates, Adam Gould, David Neilson and Simon Salm were awarded Diamond, the highest award for sales performance in RE/MAX Australia.
The office also took out the Pivotal Financial Award for Top Performing Office- Finance and Adam Gould won Top Performing Agent – Finance.
Key awards went to RE/MAX Regency, which was top sales office for RE/MAX Australia in 2018. Sales associate, Stuart Legg was named top agent and was also recognised with a Diamond Award.
Many individual, team and office achievements were recognised as the awards rolled out. These included Rookie of the Year – Belinda Davey, RE/MAX Connected (North Lakes); Personal Assistant of the Year – Emma Bowdler, RE/MAX Success (Toowoomba);
Special Achievements in Marketing Awards went to Leonardo Di Pinto, RE/MAX Results (Morningside) and Tony Williamson, RE/MAX Real Estate Services (Cairns).
Ray Murphy from RE/MAX Real Estate Services repeated his previous year win taking the Auction Award for an individual sales associate, and fellow agent Tiffany Krause won Business Growth Award for an Individual.
Emma Goodfellow, RE/MAX Results (Mackay) was named Property Manager of the Year, while the Gladstone property management unit at RE/MAX Gold won the top team award.
Riverhills RE/MAX Ignite picked up the property management awards for both net and percentage business growth.
RE/MAX Partners (Hervey Bay) took out an auction award, RE/MAX First (Caloundra) was named Most Productive Office for 2018.
Seven agents, in total, received a Diamond Award, with seven Titan awards, 17 Chairman’s awards, 43 Platinum awards, 29 Gold awards, and 43 100% awards, making up the six Club levels of achievement recognized by RE/MAX Australia.
International achievement was also recognized with 16 inducted into the RE/MAX International Hall of Fame; and four – Darren Lewis-Date, David Moore, Paul Turner and Scott Mackey – were awarded RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement.
Pivotal Financial award recipients were finance specialists Anish Prasad, once again Broker of the Year, and Paul Habib repeating his previous year’s Top Performer win. Danielle Wilson was announced the Rising Star, while last year’s recipient of that award, Tim Denton, was awarded for Top Market Share.
For the fourth year, the RE/MAX Australia annual awards gala featured a charity auction, a Make-A-Wish Australia fundraiser, with Auctioneer of the Year, Paul Gaffney, and RE/MAX Auction Services’ Dene Tucker. One of three items to go under the hammer, a wish auction – the chance to help make a real wish come true – has become a unique prize in this event. In the two auctioneers’ skillful hands, the spirited bidding raising $23,700 toward Make-A-Wish Australia.
Mr Davoren said recent years had been some of the most productive for growth, both within the network and within offices themselves.
“And our last two years have been massive – from hosting the RE/MAX Asia Pacific Convention in 2017, a study tor to Mongolia in 2018 to advances in technology and launch of Precinct, a monumental step in our digital transformation.
“As our network continues to grow, it is important to celebrate our point-of difference and give every customer a truly stand-out real estate experience.”
“As much as we were celebrating the achievements of our network, our offices and our individuals, the rally and awards gala are always a celebration of what is at the very core of RE/MAX: the fact that this is truly the franchise that creates and facilitates the experience of unlimited opportunities for independently-minded agents,” he said.
The global RE/MAX footprint takes in more than 100 countries and territories, with more than 120,000 agents globally. This year’s study tour destination is India.
