The doors to RE/MAX Living Woodford’s new premises have opened welcoming the community to feel at home while finding their new home. Broker/owner Kathy Sweeney welcomed guests to an open night on Thursday, September 19, showcasing the new premises at 62 Archer Street, Woodford.
RE/MAX Living opened its second office at Woodford three years ago and having outgrown the space Ms Sweeney purchased the new property at auction last December.
Built in 1955, Ms Sweeney said it was important to keep the character of the property, while adding their signature style and making it a functional space for her team and clients.
“We really outgrew our previous space, and it’s important to create a welcoming, open and transparent space for both our clients and my team” she said.
“I had been looking for a suitable space to purchase for a few years and although the property wasn’t initially zoned for commercial use, I could see the potential for creating the space that RE/MAX Living represents and ran the risk.
While the process of rezoning was slow, once approved the almost 70-year-old property’s makeover began in June. While the team have been enjoying the new space for a fortnight, Ms Sweeney said there are still a few finishing touches to be done.
“By purchasing the property, rather than leasing it, I can guarantee the longevity and stability of RE/MAX Living in Woodford.”
Ms Sweeney emphasized that while the property styling was an important component of the new office, she spared no expense in ensuring it was a welcoming space for her staff to enjoy, and be proud to bring their clients.
“It’s important that my staff work in a beautiful environment and I didn’t want to spare any expense to achieve that,” she said, adding “I have a great team and it’s important to me to look after them, ensuring they’re comfortable – it’s their place of work after all.”
Through the continuity of styling and layout between RE/MAX Living Woodford and RE/MAX Living Burpengary, clients have felt welcomed to an open space which Ms Sweeney says mirrors the openness and transparency of their team.
The project fit-out was designed by local Lucy Young, of Soulful Gypsy Designz, her third office design for Ms Sweeney.
“Lucy knows me very well, she knows what I like and how I wanted the space to feel to others,” she said. “It’s wonderful to be able to trust someone who understands me and my vision for the space and be able to execute it so well.”
“It’s been a long process but we’re thrilled with the outcome and it’s great to bring a fresh and new look in Woodford.”
