Global real estate giant RE/MAX honoured individual agents and teams with special award for sales performance at a gala ceremony that culminated the second annual Asia Pacific Convention this month.
Australian and New Zealand agents dominated many of the award categories, which were presented by RE/MAX LLC Director of Global Development, Chip Brekken.
Figuring in the ten categories based on RE/MAX LLC’s 2015 rankings were RE/MAX Regency, Robina; RE/MAX City, Brisbane; RE/MAX Results, Morningside; RE/MAX Bayside Properties, Brisbane; RE/MAX Ultimate, Burpengary; RE/MAX Advantage, Wynnum; RE/MAX Colonial, Annerley; RE/MAX Hinterland, Maleny; RE/MAX Real Estate Services, Cairns; and RE/MAX Elite, Wagga Wagga.
Michael Davoren, Managing Director for RE/MAX Australia and RE/MAX New Zealand nominated Tony Williamson from RE/MAX Real Estate Services and Reno Muscat from RE/MAX Advantage for awards in recognition of their continuous business development in the Asia Pacific region.
“Tony and Reno have demonstrated ambassadorial roles in forging agent relationships through the region.
“Australia and New Zealand are seen as safe and secure destinations. Australia and New Zealand are geographically closer to China, closer in times zones and easier to visit. The Chinese population is becoming wealthier. These are three very important facts for the Australian and New Zealand real estate industries to take on board,” said Mr Davoren.
Business owners and agents traveled to Bangkok for the back-to-back RE/MAX Australia-New Zealand Broker Owner Forum followed by the Asia Pacific Convention where they joined more than 300 delegates representing all 15 countries in the Asia Pacific region plus other international regions including the US, the UK and Italy.
The business owners attending the Forum learned much in sessions with Singapore regional owner, Ken Lim, and the regional owner for Italy, Dario Castiglia, and heard from the inspirational Peter Baines, the Forum’s key note speaker.
As part of the Asia Pacific Convention, Mr Davoren attended a cocktail function of all regional owners hosted by the American Ambassador to Thailand, Glyn T. Davies, at his residence. RE/MAX is the only global company other than Google to receive such an invitation.
The Australian Ambassador for Thailand, Paul Robilliard, joined RE/MAX delegates on the VIP table at the gala awards.
A convention highlight was the Property Fair where property specialists from as far north as Cairns and Townsville and south to Sydney and Canberra, as well as New Zealand , showcased projects and developments alongside properties from across the Asia Pacific region.
“This convention offered massive networking opportunities for Australian and New Zealand agents, and has tremendous benefits for Asian investors, developers and individuals wanting to emigrate to Australia and New Zealand,” said Mr Davoren.
“It was genuinely an eye-opener to how much investor money is heading to Australia and New Zealand, and not just from Asia, and events like this assist our agents to stride confidently into new market places.”
