RE/MAX broker owner Roxanne Workman stared in a recent Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) official industry podcast, part of a series where host Rob Doorey talks with industry specialists about the issues and trends affecting Queensland real estate.
Introducing Roxanne as ‘a powerhouse of the Queensland real estate industry’ in The Property Brief, Episode 26, he asks her to chart her progress from PA to an agency principal to the owner of two RE/MAX franchises.
In 2002, the mother to three young boys decided to return to work. She had six years as a PA before deciding to become a real estate agent, encouraged by her principal at the time and her husband Adam.
In 2013, when she had been with RE/MAX for two and a half years, Roxanne decided it was time for her own business and to build a rent roll.
“The RE/MAX flexibility, being able to work as a contracted agent, being able to grow my business within the business, made this possible,” she said.
“Adam and I grew the first business we started, which was in Riverhills, and we jumped in when the opportunity arose to purchase a second RE/MAX business in Bardon in February last year.
Earlier this month, Roxanne and Adam celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary.
Listen to what Roxanne has to say about working as a team, about business ownership, how building rapport and trust underpins success, about the ‘biggest learning curve’ that was COVID and the current ‘perfect storm’. Click on the link https://www.reiq.com/podcast/
“When you own the business, the buck stops with you. It’s your name on the door. If you are not enjoying it, make it enjoyable – or don’t do it!
“At the moment, I am a selling principal but look forward one day to putting ALL my energy into helping my agents grow their businesses.” Roxanne said.
