MACKAY RE/MAX AGENT HEADLINES EVENT

August 5, 2024

One of RE/MAX Australia’s top agents, Leanne Druery, recently spoke, by invitation, at a high-profile real estate event.

Leading Ladies of Real Estate chose the Mackay sales specialist as one of three influential real estate women based in North Queensland to headline its first regional event.

Over the past three years, Leading Ladies has welcomed more than 3000 women to its in-person events across Australia and New Zealand and reached thousands more through its podcasts.

The sold-out Townsville event held in July attracted 100 women from across the region.

“I avidly follow Leading Ladies through podcasts and Instagram, but most events are held in the larger cities, and it has not been practical for me to attend,” the RE/MAX Select agent said.

“We don’t usually get access to such an event in regional areas; the vibe was amazing.”

Joining Leanne as a key presenter were Allison Gough of Ray White Townsville and Rebecca Logan, principal of Renting Here, a boutique property management business.

The group tackled several topics concerning women in business and the intersection of their personal and professional lives.

Sally Patch, Chairperson of Leading Ladies Queensland, hosted the panel, opening with ‘everyone can be a leader’.

“Sally reminded us that it’s not about having a leadership job title, it’s about how we turn up, how we speak up and about not accepting mediocrity.

“On my team, I consider every person to be a leader,” said Leanne.

RE/MAX Select broker owner Nikita Kinnane also travelled to Townsville for the event.

Both she and Leanne praised the event’s organisers on the regional initiative.

“We heard great stories of success from ‘ordinary’ women,” said Leanne. “These were women with families and other responsibilities who are achieving great success in regional areas and proving that you don’t have to be a big city agent to be at the top.”

Leanne, whose Team Leanne Druery is one of the highest ranked sales units in the Australian network, pointed out that, at the recent six-month awards, regional sales teams dominated the top five for both sales transactions and commissions for RE/MAX.

The Leading Ladies of Real Estate Townsville event was supported by major sponsor Queensland Country Bank and event partners Bellco Law, Townsville Bulletin and POA.

Leading Ladies of Real Estate is an industry-wide initiative with communities across Australia and New Zealand, focused on building a community that supports and inspires women in the industry to chase their potential.
