Cairns Post has revealed its annual list of the Far North’s Most Influential People, a list of those with ties and roots to the community who are influencing others around them.
RE/MAX Real Estate Services broker owner Tony Williamson returned to the 2018 Cairns Post 50 Most Influential, positioned at 29 in the diverse group that included sporting stars, business leaders, community heroes, artists and politicians.
The paper reported, “Tony Williamson is a one of the city’s most ardent real estate agents in Cairns and heads RE/MAX Cairns, which he revived nine years ago with just one staff member.
Today he employs more than 20 people and two years ago he made a bold decision to shift his offices from a high-profile site on Sheridan St at Cairns North to a former wedding chapel in suburban Whitfield.
He is a great believer in auction sales. Mr Williamson frequently travels overseas as an advocate for the RE/MAX and Cairns brands. He is a non-executive director of Queensland Country Credit Union and chairman of Northern Pride.”
Mr Williamson, who is recognised within RE/MAX Australia and internationally as an award-winning business owner, thought leader and power-packed performer, also made Elite Agent magazine’s inaugural Top Influencers list last year.
“Once again, I didn’t even realise the Cairns Post ‘Most Influential’ was being compiled.
“It’s a great honour to see my name there, and it has a significant positioning effect in the market place for me and my business. Being recognised in such a manner is important and conducive to remaining top of your game,” he said.
