RE/MAX offices in Australia and New Zealand have applauded a virtual conferencing platform experienced recently, prompting its use in future events.
RE/MAX was first to market with a platform that has not been utilised by any other real estate group in Australia.
“Three months ago, if I’d suggested the RE/MAX Evolve concept, I can think of more than one person who might have who might have questioned the practicality and usefulness of a 100% virtual, network-wide event,” laughed RE/MAX Australia Director Josh Davoren.
“Then we pulled something really special together in less than four weeks, and I can confidently say, blew the network away.”
The virtual platform which housed the event allowed delegates to freely interact with each other and experience speakers with exceptional clarity.
“Just as the benchmarks for a good technician in the art of real estate have changed, so too has the way we can connect with and serve our network.
“Our priorities were delivering a platform that gave special opportunities to the network, gave flexibility and variety in consuming information, and was easy and beneficial for entire teams to use.
“Then we added great substance … and recorded the whole day for those who couldn’t be online.”
RE/MAX Regency principal Justin Miller was one of many who recognised value to his team.
“The virtual event meant every single person in the office or working from home could be part of it. It was flexible and convenient.”
Morris Short’s team socially distanced in the RE/MAX Xtra office at Parramatta to view the big screen as well as networking on laptops and iPads.
For Toowoomba-based principal Katie Knight and Brett White from Perth, the ‘tyranny of distance’ was taken out of the equation and it was accessible to all.
“It was a powerful event,” said Mr White. “The quality of the speakers and their content was beyond what we expected, I believe.
“I’d love to see this as a recruitment tool in the future, where people might experience through invitation while retaining their privacy if they wished.”
Many, like Justin Miller, Katie Knight, Brett White and Morris Short, felt the use of such a platform set RE/MAX apart.
“Not only were speakers world-class but you can actually tap into them from all over the world. We had Adam Contos, RE/MAX global head, in our offices, cars and homes, for instance.
“RE/MAX has embraced technology in a unique way and created more than a global environment. RE/MAX has created a global community, which sets it apart – and no other brand offers this to the same degree,” he said.
Katie Knight added, “The event was like a beautiful union of the best technologies and I felt so proud to be a member of the RE/MAX network.”
RE/MAX Australia partnered with events business, Imagine Experiences, and AV and technology partner, BMA Event Group, to deliver its first virtual network-wide event.
Mr Davoren said virtual conferencing would complement traditional models on the network’s events calendar through 2020-21 and beyond.
