David and Karen Wereszczuk have taken ownership of successful real estate agency, RE/MAX Advanced, with a clear plan to grow the team in response to the confidence in the Bribie Island property market.
The Wereszczuks have been part of the office’s success story, having worked in the team for the past two years as senior sales associate and business and sales administrator. Daughter Brianna Wereszczuk is the receptionist at RE/MAX Advanced.
Mr Wereszczuk says the timing of his move into ownership coincides with celebrating a decade in real estate and a career that’s progressed from salesperson to sales manager to principal. His extensive experience includes years as a successful Melbourne real estate agent and auctioneer prior to making Bribie Island home.
“Karen and I have consciously made this ownership move as a family, making RE/MAX Advanced our family business,” he said, “with Karen in business development, Brianna in administration and our son, Josh, working with us in graphic design.
“This only leaves our youngest, Alyssa, to join the team and she isn’t on the payroll… as yet,” he laughed.
He says the office has a great culture and a strong sales team.
“It’s our new extended family which includes licensed estate agent, Karl Osswald; sales consultant, Mitchell Day; executive assistant, Claire Tyldesley; client services manager, Rebecca Ernst; and Victoria Nicholson, RE/MAX Advanced’s founder and former broker owner who remains with us as a conjunctional agent, and her team.”
Mr Wereszczuk identifies a positive shift in the local market since the election, with greatly increased buyer and seller activity, including from investors.
“We are seeing a great deal of cashed-up buyer activity now, far more than a month or two ago. They are ready to move.
“Affordability is certainly an attraction across all price ranges.”

“The better-quality homes are going to interstate buyers who look at the Gold and Sunshine Coasts and see better value for their dollars on Bribie,” he said.
Mr Wereszczuk will continue to concentrate on sales and the growth of the sales team while Karen will be active in growing the rental department as well as administration.
“In building our team, we’ll be focussing on training and mentoring within a culture that encourages agents to grow their own business as they perform at their best,” he said.
“I want RE/MAX Advanced to raise the bar on professionalism in the local market and improve the public’s perception of a quality real estate agent.
“Today’s real estate professional is a well-trained property consultant who advises their clients on the best way to achieve their goals,” said Mr Wereszczuk, “and we will grow the team with agents who share our vision of understanding a client’s goals and always doing the right thing by them, whether that be in sales or leasing.”
