The Cairns RE/MAX team is inviting the local community to help those impacted through the devastating fires that have raged across so much of Australia in recent months.
“We will have donation tins out at all our auctions and our open homes for sale and rental properties from now to the end of February,” said principal Ray Murphy, “and RE/MAX Real Estate Services will match the amount raised by our generous community, dollar for dollar.”
Mr Murphy said his team was proudly participating in the real estate industry initiative, ‘Beyond the Bricks’.
“We personally wanted to provide assistance to the victims of the horrific bushfires and felt our Cairns community would be keen to join us to support those communities who have been impacted.
“We were delighted to hear the whole real estate industry had made a collective commitment and nearly thirty major franchise groups and the real estate institutes around Australia pledged almost $900,000 in just the first few days.
“What a great start to assisting those suffering loss and disruption across Australia, but we know we can now contribute more.
Beyond the Bricks is a three-phase plan. It provides immediate relief and support to those in need. It will help to rebuild family homes and individual lives. It will help restore affected communities and encourage ongoing support through, for example, promoting tourism and local businesses.
RE/MAX Real Estate Services will have the collection tins out at its first in-rooms auction for 2020, on Tuesday 4th February commencing 5.30pm.
