The 2021 RE/MAX Australia Annual Awards, held at Brisbane City Hall on 25th February, provided a backdrop to raise $12,500 for the network’s partner charity, Make-A-Wish® Australia.
The annual charity auction is a highlight on the night each year.
“Since 2012, REMAX Australia has donated more than $250,000 to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses,” said Managing Director Joel Davoren. ”2020 was a tough year for Make-A-Wish because some wishes had to be delayed.
“It is even more important that we help the Make-A-Wish commitment to every child that, when it is safe to do so, all wishes will come true.”
RE/MAX Auction Services’ Dene Tucker led the bidding on the first of three items, a RE/MAX hot air balloon ride for two. Simon Salm from RE/MAX Bayside Properties had those wishes very clearly in mind with his very generous winning bid of $4000.
It was a similar story for RE/MAX Property Centre’s Danny Woolbank who was the highest bidder at $3000 for private coaching sessions with Josh Phegan.
Then Mark Clayton, RE/MAX Hinterland, scored the REA Ultimate Marketing Package for $5000.
Generous donations from guests on the night, through scanning the QR code cards on tables, topped up the overall donations.
RE/MAX Australia has been partnering with the charity for nine years, with RE/MAX offices individually and collectively working throughout the year toward raising an annual goal for the charity.
