RE/MAX Australia awarded its January to June 2019 top performers at its July Rally, held at Moda Events, Portside, in Brisbane, where Managing Director, Michael Davoren, said achievement and success represented the ability of the individual in the real estate industry to adapt to their market.
He announced RE/MAX Bayside Properties as the top office for both commission and sales transactions. RE/MAX Results, Morningside, and RE/MAX Community Realty, Sunnybank, were the top property management offices in net growth and percentage growth respectively.
Todd Gerhardt from RE/MAX Advantage, Wynnum, and Jenna Pollard from RE/MAX Vision, Junee, were the top individuals for commission earned and number of transactions respectively.
The top two sales teams were the Neilson Team from RE/MAX Bayside Properties, and the Melita Bell Team from RE/MAX Success in Toowoomba.
RE/MAX Australia brought more than 200 members, business partners and invited guests together for a successful network event based around the theme of ‘thinking bigger’ to differentiate.
Mr Davoren said real estate markets had experienced considerable impacts through the first half of 2019.
“We’ve not just had change but rapid change, moving through pre to post election, for example, as well as what’s been happening with interest rates.
“Good agents need to be able to talk to real estate customers knowledgably about such matters, and that’s one of the important ways they add value to their relationship with the sellers and buyers,” he said.
The Rally program brought together great speakers from the RE/MAX ranks and from outside.
Blending heightened observational skills, psychological ploys, suggestion and showmanship, celebrity mind reader, Anthony Laye, was the feature keynote speaker leading into announcement of the awards late afternoon.
“Anthony Laye’s mission is to inspire his audience to be a better leaders, influencers and communicators in a world that is constantly distracting us and fighting for our attention,” said Mr Davoren. “Using his talent as a mentalist, he shares his business and mindset skills as he demonstrates the importance and power of being conscious.
“Living consciously is the secret to standing out from the crowd and being part of the top one per cent.”
Previously on the morning program, delegates had heard agent Leo Di Pint speak passionately and entertainingly about differentiating via social media and Sarah Bell, co-founder of the proptech startup AIRE, Artificial Intelligence for Real Estate, spoke on differentiating via technology.
The afternoon featured a session for property managers with Nick Brown, the founder of Edge Property Agents and Edge Property – Training and Advisory.
For sales and administration professionals, on offer was the very enlightening and stimulating ‘Handling Objection’ panel facilitated by RE/MAX Director, Joel Davoren. The panelists were three successful and respected agents – Justine Dill from Toowoomba and Ray Murphy and Reece O’Brien from Cairns – who shared their experiences before all three did a sterling job of responding to audience questions.
RE/MAX Australia presented Make-A-Wish® Australia Fundraising Development Manager, Jaimi-Lee Tobin, with a cheque for $34,660, representing the previous 12 months of the network’s fundraising efforts.
This was the last of the RE/MAX Australia’s one-day rallies. From 2020, a two-day rally will be held in July, with the annual awards gala event taking place in February.
