Gladstone real estate principal Shane McLeod came to the rescue this month when the local hospital could not celebrate the much-anticipated opening of its new emergency department as a live event due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Mr McLeod from RE/MAX Gold came up with alternative, based on 3-D modelling.
“I have been using 3D tours in property marketing since the start of 2020, well before the pandemic impacted the real estate scene, because giving potential buyers the opportunity to digitally walk through a property has many advantages.
“Virtual inspections remove distance as an inhibiting factor and so open up the property to a wider buyer or tenant pool, potential buyers or tenants can inspect the property at any time of the day or night, which also makes it more convenient for property owners, especially shift workers or FIFOs.
Mr McLeod used his own 360° camera and Virtual Tours Creator software to create a 360 virtual tour of the new Emergency Department at Gladstone Hospital, an impressive new facility that doubled the total operational capacity in the new ED to 22 treatment spaces, with extra space available to meet future demand.
The virtual tour of the new ED is at https://rem.ax/3gf6o26
The new building is also the new Main Entry for Gladstone Hospital.
“I am proud to have assisted and to see the RE/MAX URL on a government site.”
Virtual inspections are now part of all Mr McLeod’s property marketing packages, if sellers and landlords wish to avail themselves.
“Virtual open homes certainly allow agents to accommodate the seller’s needs and work around their schedules; and the viewer needs no special knowledge to navigate.
“I think COVID-19 possibly sped up a transition to virtual open houses that was already underway. Virtual inspections are the way to go moving forward, although traditional open homes and inspections will remain a part of the post-pandemic real estate scene.
“The RE/MAX-branded shortened link is of enormous benefit to agents too, as it provides very good data metrics,” said Mr McLeod.
