For the third year, the RE/MAX Australia annual awards gala featured a very special and unique Make-A-Wish® Australia fundraiser, a wish auction, a chance to help make a real wish come true.
After helping a 14-year-old make his family holiday dream come true and bring a 19-year-old closer to swimming with whale sharks, this year was 16-year old Christina’s turn.
Christina cares a lot about the environment and is passionate about animals and nature, particularly seeing them in their natural habitat, but her hospital stays and treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma haven’t allowed her much opportunity to pursue her passion . RE/MAX now helps her wish to visit Ningaloo reef become reality.
With Make-A-Wish volunteer, Selena Ansen, introducing the charity auction, RE/MAX Australia Auctioneer of the Year, Greg Parker, from RE/MAX Regency, took centre stage; and when he called ‘sold’ on Christina’s wish, it was a three-way group bid from RE/MAX Regency, RE/MAX Bayside Properties and Dave Neilson team (also from RE/MAX bayside Properties).
Two further donated items were auctioned to assist Make-A-Wish in granting the wishes of children and teenagers with life-threatening medical conditions, with winning bids on the REA marketing package from Craig Bullen, RE/MAX First Residential, Coorparoo, and the iRealtyDigital marketing package from Victoria Nicholson, RE/MAX Island Properties, Bribie island, taking the fund-raising tally for the charity auction to $14,750 for Make-A-Wish on the night.
