REMAX Australia Managing Director Joel Davoren joined some of the biggest names in rugby league at the 2025 Queensland Maroons Long Lunch, presented by XXXX at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday 21st May.
Joel attended as guest of REMAX Precision broker owner Scott Mackey, who has a long association with State of Origin through the ‘1980 Initiative’, which involves business leaders supporting potential, current or past players with guidance on business dealings, coping with public profile, setting themselves up for future wealth and security, and more.
Scott has an ongoing mentor relationship with Melbourne Storm skipper, Harry Grant, who recently made the side for the State of Origin opener when the series kicks off at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane later in the month.
Harry recently settled on his latest property acquisition when Scott guided him through the purchase of a two-bedroom apartment in Melbourne.
Its prime Richmond Hill location, wrap-around deck and fabulous views make it ideal for short-term rental accommodation, which is one of Scott’s specialisations.
“Harry is an exceptional talent on the field and he’s applying this greatness to controlling his own financial future,” said Scott. “His focus off the field is every bit as determined, well-planned and well-executed and he’s building a property portfolio with a mixture of fixed and short-term rental.”
Queensland Maroons Long Lunch guests enjoyed a great afternoon of all things Origin and heard exclusive insights from Coach Billy Slater, along with many representatives and legends of the game.
“There was also plenty of opportunity to rub shoulders with players, past and present,” said Scott.
