Victoria Nicholson, broker owner of RE/MAX Advanced, Bribie island, is vying for the title of Principal of the Year – Regional, an award that REB editor says recognises the principal from regional Australia who has built the most successful real estate office or group of offices. The business will have outstanding sales results backed with a solid rent roll, have a winning culture and attract top talent.
As finalist for the Mentor of the Year award, Pushpa Bakshi, of RE/MAX A1 in Ipswich, is recognised as someone who has shown commitment to training and developing new agents starting out in their real estate career.
RE/MAX Australia director Joel Davoren said that the REB Women in Real Estate Awards were a great opportunity to celebrate the success of women in the industry.
“We congratulate Victoria and Pushpa in achieving recognition as finalists and would love to see them go on to win,” he said.
Tim Neary described the REB Women in Real Estate Awards as an important new initiative to show REB’s support for the women in Australian real estate.
“The awards provide a platform for women in the industry to showcase their talents,” Mr Neary said.
“It is a great way to recognise the industry’s high-performance female agents, property managers, BDMs and businesses. It is a necessary new initiative to celebrate and recognise the female leaders, role models and future champions of the industry and to join the campaign for a more gender-balanced world.”
He said that judging was is a multi-step process. All submissions are delivered to a panel of respected industry professionals and business leaders for assessment.
The panel members include Lisa Montgomery, consultant, coach and consumer advocate at Take2 Consulting; Adam Franklin, CEO of Bluewire Media; Brett Spencer, chairman of Opica Group; Melanie Hoole, social media and digital expert at Hoole.co; and Tony Dormer, managing director at TricorDormers Pty Ltd.
The judges will score each submission across a range of criteria, with each set of criteria applicable to an awards category.
The inaugural awards evet is a black-tie affair on 27 June at The Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney.
